Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of the University Registrar is to support the University Strategic Plan by serving three distinct publics: students, alumni, and faculty/staff. Our ability to serve is predicated on the notion that we must provide the quality service necessary for the needs of that public as well as adhere to any federal, state, and/or university guidelines. We pledge to treat every person with courtesy and respect, to extend quality service with every public transaction, and to provide an environment in which all are respected, valued, and welcomed. Our services will provide opportunities for students with different backgrounds and perspectives to acquire the understanding, knowledge, and skills to be proactive, competent contributors to their degree plans as well as to the university community.
Statement of Commitment and Vision
Our past, present, and future students are our reason for being. The Office of the University Registrar staff is dedicated to meeting and exceeding the recruitment, retention, and information needs of the university community. We are client-driven and quality service oriented. We fully support, in our plans and actions, the core values of Virginia Tech as stated in the University Strategic Plan:
"...freedom of inquiry, personal integrity, mutual respect, promoting
personal and professional growth, fostering a lifelong commitment
to learning, and contributing to society." - University Strategic Plan
